Kitchen Update: If Walls Could Talk

Let me take you through the the last sixty years of interior decorating from the evidence found behind our cabinets. First we begin in the 50's with the gingham yellow and white wallpaper (sorry folks don't have a picture of that beauty), on top of that we go to the 70's with faux wood paneling (what a mistake that trend was), then we get to the 80's with the faux brick, and lastly the white paint over the faux brick to give it alttile more pop (really previous owners? This was the best you could do?)... is any one else feeling queasy?

Thankfully the boys were able to finish the demo...

painstakingly chip off all the brick face from the walls...

and then install the drywall...

...all by Sunday night. The next day I was able to tape and spackle, so as of Monday the kitchen looked like this. Yesterday was sand and prime day (sorry no pictures, I was afraid of getting the camera dusty). And today we paint! More pictures to come.
